Linda & Adam - The Acre Boomerang Farm Wedding

Linda & Adam - The Acre Boomerang Farm Wedding

Linda and Adam have an amazing bond that not even supporting different football teams can change. I could tell that friends and family are super important to them, not to mention their dogs who they made sure didn’t miss out on the occasion.

Having a wedding venue where everything is in the one place was also important to these two. They wanted their friends and family to relax, play some lawn games, enjoy great food and drink. The Acre Boomerang Farm in the Gold Coast Hinterland ticked all the right boxes, and not just for them. A hidden treehouse, a 100-year-old barn, creeks, rainforests, grassy fields… all things that make a wedding photographer’s shutter-finger start to twitch.

The weather was that perfect mix of overcast with the sun peeking through at just the right moments, then after the sun went down and all the guests were seated at the reception the rain started. I grabbed some umbrellas and a spare groomsmen as a lighting assistant and headed outside for a couple of sparkly night portraits (see last few shots). Congratulations to Linda and Adam!

Amanda & Tom - Customs House Wedding

Amanda & Tom - Customs House Wedding

Amanda & Tom planned their December wedding all the way from London. They wanted it to be a proper celebration that showed off Australia, and Amanda’s hometown, Brisbane. Planning a wedding from the other side of the world can’t be the easiest of jobs, but I can safely say that these two nailed it!

So how do you go about showcasing a beautiful city like Brisbane? Well, for the ceremony they chose St Mary’s Church in Kangaroo Point, overlooking the winding Brisbane River. For the location photography it was an easy stroll down to the Kangaroo Point Cliffs to capture some beautiful late afternoon sunlight on the city skyline. Then where better to hold the reception than the historic Customs House overlooking the Story Bridge.

And when would be the best time to hold such a celebration? Why, New Years Eve of course! Basically these two were married in front of their closest friends and family, partied like it was 2016 and made-out under the glow of fireworks at midnight. Perfect. Thanks for choosing me as your Brisbane wedding photographer Amanda & Tom.

Andrea & Justin - Royal Pines Wedding

Andrea & Justin - Royal Pines Wedding

On a perfect Gold Coast afternoon Andrea & Justin got married. They held an emotional ceremony in the Chapel of RACV Royal Pines on the the Gold Coast. Surrounded by their closest friends and family they cried, laughed and tied the knot. The venue was stunning with lots of water, giant fig trees and gorgeous flowering bushes. It was so nice to witness their wedding and of course be the photographer. Congratulations Andrea & Justin!

After the wedding Andrea & Justing sent me the loveliest testimonial. Thank you guys, it was my pleasure  – “We were lucky to stumble across Gabe who was recommended to us by a friend. We loved his portfolio and his relaxed yet professional approach to what he does. Gabe always made himself available before the day to discuss any ideas or concerns. He was calm (which helped us) and professional, yet fun and casual at the same time. The service he provided was fantastic value for money and the turn around for receiving the photos was equally impressive. Gabe followed our request to capture action shots from the day and night which we couldn’t be happier with. The photos tell a story from the beginning to the end and we still don’t regret not having a videographer. We could not recommend Gabe enough.”

Kristine & Nathan - GoMA Wedding

Kristine & Nathan - GoMA Wedding

Kristine & Nathan met at dental school and found love over a mutual appreciation for dessert. As the story goes they were sat next to each-other at a university dinner and towards the end of the night Nathan used the classic, tried and tested pick-up line; “are you going to finish that?”. He did not know at the time but the fact that Kristine let him finish her desert was a huge deal. He must have been special.

A few years down the track, on a beautiful Brisbane day I had the pleasure of being their wedding photographer! Kristine got ready at home with her bridesmaids, cat Riffraff and dog Ziggy (who later made an appearance on the wedding cake topper). The ceremony was held in the Sculpture Courtyard of the Queensland Art Gallery, surrounded by flowing water, warm filtered sunlight and their closest friends & family. The stunning reception was on the GoMA River Terrace with friends providing the soundtrack (Nathan even joined the horn section for tune) and a nanna that seriously owned the dance floor the entire night.
