Linda & Adam - The Acre Boomerang Farm Wedding

Linda & Adam - The Acre Boomerang Farm Wedding

Linda and Adam have an amazing bond that not even supporting different football teams can change. I could tell that friends and family are super important to them, not to mention their dogs who they made sure didn’t miss out on the occasion.

Having a wedding venue where everything is in the one place was also important to these two. They wanted their friends and family to relax, play some lawn games, enjoy great food and drink. The Acre Boomerang Farm in the Gold Coast Hinterland ticked all the right boxes, and not just for them. A hidden treehouse, a 100-year-old barn, creeks, rainforests, grassy fields… all things that make a wedding photographer’s shutter-finger start to twitch.

The weather was that perfect mix of overcast with the sun peeking through at just the right moments, then after the sun went down and all the guests were seated at the reception the rain started. I grabbed some umbrellas and a spare groomsmen as a lighting assistant and headed outside for a couple of sparkly night portraits (see last few shots). Congratulations to Linda and Adam!

Grace & Rich - Top 4 Things To Do In West End

Grace & Rich - Top 4 Things To Do In West End

Grace & Rich are getting married next year back home England. They have been living in Australia for the last five and half years but only recently decided to make the move back to be with family. Grace is a super talented photographer who has established herself as one of the most sought after fashion photographers in Brisbane. Living and working in West End meant they got to know the place pretty well. Jet Black Cat Music and The End are two establishments that have become particularly special to them. We really wanted the photos to feel more like an average Sunday afternoon than an engagement shoot. Just two people hanging out, doing things they love to do – browsing through some records, grabbing a drink and heading down to the river for sunset and a spot of skateboarding. It was so much fun I decided to name the blog post ‘Top Four Things To Do In West End’. All the best for the move and wedding Grace and Rich!

Michael's Christening - Greek Orthodox Church & The Joinery West End

Michael's Christening - Greek Orthodox Church & The Joinery West End

What a pleasure it was to capture the christening of little Michael recently. I love photographing in the Greek Orthodox Church, it has such an incredible atmosphere. When the incense and prayers start it is impossible not to feel moved. However nothing seemed to phase Michael, staying cool the entire time!

The ceremony was followed by a lunch reception just around the corner at West End’s new venue The Joinery. Open, light and airy – the space looked amazing. Complete with ice cream parlour, face painting, children’s entertainment and one of the best looking dessert bars I have ever seen, it was fair to say the kids (and adults) had a blast.

If you’re looking for a modern wedding venue that is close to the city, with amazing food, service and atmosphere seriously check out The Joinery. Plus there is a serious smorgasbord of photo locations in West End.
