Lucy & Sam - Sunshine Beach Surf Club Wedding

Lucy & Sam - Sunshine Beach Surf Club Wedding

I’m very excited to share some of my favourite images from Lucy & Sam’s Sunshine Coast wedding. It was my first time shooting at the Sunshine Beach Surf Club since its big renovation and it is now an incredible venue! The huge functions room is filled with light and looks straight over the ocean.

It was so nice to finally shoot this wedding after them initially getting in touch back in 2018. Fast forward a couple of years and a few venue changes it finally happened on the most glorious day.

You’ll see from the size of this post that I had a tough time narrowing down my favourite images. Congratulations Lucy & Sam!

Nicola & Mark - Gabbinbar Homestead Wedding

Nicola & Mark - Gabbinbar Homestead Wedding

I'm writing this blog post in what is I think the 5th week of self-isolation. And it also marks 5 weeks since the original date of my first postponed wedding of the year. It's been a wild ride since then, and with no clear end date there is not much more we can do other than ride the wave and enjoy the extra time at home with the family - Did I mention we have a 3-month-old baby? Her name is Georgia and apart from a nightly dinner time screaming session, she is the most relaxed, sweet baby you could imagine.

A stunning Gabbinbar Wedding

While the iso continues, I've been going through my recent weddings and trying to blog as much as possible. It's so nice to re-live the days and marvel at how we used to hug and embrace family and friends without a second thought. How we used to crowd together, shoulder-to-shoulder, and watch as the people close to us declared their love for each other. Surely we will be able to do this again soon right?

Anyways, Nicola & Mark got married late last year at the impeccable Gabbinbar Homestead in Toowoomba. I am always blown away by the attention to detail at this venue. Mark's father conducted the ceremony in the pavilion, before drinks & lawn games in the garden, dinner & speeches in the ballroom, and finally dancing back out at the pavilion. These guys were so sweet together - I had a blast photographing their day. I'll leave the descriptions there and let the photos do the talking.

Terah & Micky - The Gardens Club Wedding

Terah & Micky - The Gardens Club Wedding

Terah & Micky got married on a beautiful spring day in Brisbane at The Gardens Club - I’m sure everyone is tired of hearing me rabbit on about how great this little venue is so I am going to keep this short. There were tears, laughter, and smiles all around as Kate from Third Wheel Love Co who took care of formalities. Then it was off to explore the gardens and QUT with their besties.

Brodie & Patrick - Factory 51 Wedding

Brodie & Patrick - Factory 51 Wedding

On a beautiful spring day, Brodie & Pat were married over-looking the water from the River Terrace at Brisbane Powerhouse. Brodie chose The Fantauzzo at Howard Smith Wharves to get ready, whilst Pat kept things simple having a few drinks with his groomsmen at home. Erin Woodhall crafted with the ceremony with the perfect balance of emotion, laughs, and fun-poking. She even kept things on track when two minutes in a brisk southerly decided the veil was no longer needed. We explored the Powerhouse grounds for some bridal party shots before heading to Factory 51 for some epic food, speeches and partying (thanks to Sarah Archer). Congratulations Brodie & Pat!

Monica & Scott - The Lushington Wedding

Monica & Scott - The Lushington Wedding

The Lushington in Woolloongabba is one of those venues that I wanted to shoot a wedding at from the moment I heard about it. Industrial exposed brick and timber beams, polished concrete floors… Its very own gritty lane and rock wall 😍

Monica & Scott held the most gorgeous ceremony in front of all their friends and family. It was super heartfelt and intimate with a stunning floral backdrop put together by Scott’s aunt Sandee from Always Fabulous Flowers. After the ceremony, we explored the urban streets around The Lushington before heading into the city botanic gardens for some shots with the bridal party.

Congratulations Monica & Scott!
