Kayley & Mitch - Up & Away Braeside Mountain Wedding
Kayley and Mitch aren't the type to stress over a wedding day, and it showed. From getting ready right through to the dance floor, everything just rolled along at their pace. They're a genuinely relaxed, down to earth couple, and that energy carried through everything, from getting ready right through to the dance floor.
If you haven't been up to Up & Away before, it's worth the drive. Perched high above the Southern Downs about 20 minutes from Stanthorpe, the property sits at one of the highest points between Toowoomba and The Summit, and you feel it the second you get out of the car. There are 180 degree views rolling out over the valley in every direction, and the light up there in the late afternoon is something else. It's the kind of backdrop that does half the work for you as a photographer.
We spent some time at sunset in the cactus garden, which is such a unique spot for portraits. The shapes and textures against that soft golden light gave us some of my favourite images from the whole day. From there we wandered around different pockets of the property picking up the views, and honestly every angle offered something different.
The reception was held in the barn, which has such a warm, relaxed feel to it. Exactly the kind of space that suited Kayley and Mitch and their guests. Good food, good speeches, and a dance floor that filled up fast.
As a regular Stanthorpe wedding photographer, I get to shoot at a lot of beautiful venues in the region, but Up & Away Braeside Mountain is right up there for couples who want that big sky, mountaintop feel without straying too far from town. If you're planning a wedding at Up & Away Braeside Mountain or anywhere around the Granite Belt, I'd love to hear from you.
Congratulations again Kayley and Mitch. Thank you for having me be part of your day.
